Regular Meeting Minutes

President Ann Wrobbel called the Village Council to order at 6:00pm

Pledge to the flag was recited

Roll call: Ann Wrobbel-present, Kim Wernette-present, Melissa Lazzaro-present, Colleen Beemer-present, Alice Ray-present

Minutes of Regular Meeting October 2, 2023 were presented

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to accept minutes as written, roll call-all ayes, motion passes

Public Comment: A resident asked if hunting was going to be allowed this year on Village owned property by the airport, Pete is bringing a tractor parade to the car show next year and would to have a food court set up

Ann Wrobbel read the Presidents Report: The Christmas Tree Lighting will be on November 25th 2023 at 5:15pm at Bromley Park

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to approve all bills, expenses and payroll, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Melissa Lazzaro read the Clerks Report: Budget Workshop scheduled for December 4th, 2023 at 5:00, Presented annual subscription for Labor Law Poster and single poster price

Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to subscribe to the Michigan Chamber of Commerce labor law poster for a 1st time fee of $59.00 and $39.00 annually thereafter, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Kim Wernette read the Treasurer’s report:  Kim read the bank balances

Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to accept the Treasurers Report, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

John Fribley read the Enforcement Officer Report: Things are progressing nicely, trying to get all properties cleaned up before the snow comes

Kim Wernette read the Cemetery Report: Kim found a website with pictures of every headstone prior to 2010

Colleen Beemer read Pine Tree Park Report: The cement id done around the new well, final test results came back good, Fall Festival went well, everyone had a good time

 Bromley Park Report: Kim would like to fill stockings this year to give out to the kids at the tree lighting,

Alice Ray read Pocket Park and Research & Information: Nothing at this time

Community Activity Report: Blight Grant Update, work on the house that burned is finished, just needs to be seeded, the Village will receive an 8% Administration fee, Kim would like to be paid out of that for work on the grant

Alice Ray made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to pay Kim Wernette $20/hr. out of the 8% administration fee for working on the 1st blight grant, if there is any remaining money out of the administration fee it is to go into General Fund, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Kevin Stevens read the Street Commissioner report: Black top is done, the plow truck needs a transmission and has an axel seal leak, will be approximately $8,500 to fix, Kevin will look into prices on bagger for the zero turn

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to fix the plow truck for $8.500, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
