Regular Meeting Minutes

President Ann Wrobbel called the Village Council to order at 6:00pm

Pledge to the flag was recited

Roll call: Ann Wrobbel-present, Kim Wernette-present, Melissa Lazzaro-present, Colleen Beemer-present, Alice Ray-absent

Minutes of Regular Meeting December 4, 2023 were presented

Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Kim Wernette to accept minutes as written, roll call-all ayes, Alice Ray-absent, motion passes

Public Comment:

Ann Wrobbel read the Presidents Report: At a budget workshop Council discussed options for raising revenue, raising taxes was something that was discussed, but as of now there are no plans to raise Village taxes.  The Village sent local businesses Christmas cards this year, would like to start doing it every year. Bubba attends every meeting and gives a report, he should be paid a minimum of 2 hrs. like Melissa and John.

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to pay Bubba a 2-hr. minimum to attend the monthly meeting and give a report, roll call-all yeses, Alice Ray-absent

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to approve all bills, expenses and payroll, roll call-all yeses, Alice Ray-absent motion passes

Melissa Lazzaro read the Clerks Report: Nothing this month

Kim Wernette read the Treasurer’s report:  Kim read the bank balances

Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to accept the Treasurers Report, roll call-all yeses, Alice Ray-absent, motion passes

John Fribley was absent, Ann Wrobbel read the Enforcement Officer Report: There were 2 hearings on December 20th, Mr. Collins did not show up, he is now in contempt of court and received a $200 fine from the court and ordered to pay the Village attorney fees of $250. Mr. Osterban’s fines were waived for 30 days, he was given 2 weeks to finish cleaning up and also ordered to pay the Village attorney fees, he was offered a payment plan with the Village, he was supposed to come to the Village Office on December 21st to sign paperwork for the payment plan but didn’t show up and also didn’t come on December 28th, so that offer is void now, due to him not coming to sign paperwork.

Kim Wernette read the Cemetery Report: Nothing for this month

Colleen Beemer read Pine Tree Park Report: When the well was being fixed some of the new concrete had to be cut, it will be fixed at Trayers expense, sampling will begin next week, it should be open in 3-4 weeks.

Bromley Park Report: Nothing at this time

Alice Ray was absent, Kim Wernette read Pocket Park: Ron & Ann Wrobbel donated the tree for the giving tree, Bubba put it up, and Kim donated the lights, the tree will be up all winter.

Community Activity Report: Blue Triton sent a donation of $2,500, $1,550 of it will go to the well in Bromley Park for opening and closing, testing and fees. $500 to fireworks, $50 to Banners, and $400 will go in the Community Promotion Fund for Village activities.

Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to allow up to $300 for the Easter Celebration, roll call-all yeses, Alice Ray-absent, motion passes

Kevin Stevens read the Street Commissioner report: Christmas ornaments will be coming down next week.  Bubba is planning on doing the softball tournament again this year, he will get in touch with Al and see if he’s still interested in doing a tournament for the 4th of July, still looking for boulders, they got most of the cameras up, there’s one more to add to the back of the office.
