Regular Meeting Minutes

President Ann Wrobbel called the Village Council to order at 6:00pm


Pledge to the flag was recited


Roll call: Ann Wrobbel-present, Kim Wernette-present, Melissa Lazzaro-present, Colleen Beemer-present, Alice Ray-present


Minutes of Regular Meeting March 4, 2024 were presented


Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Kim Wernette to accept minutes as written, roll call-all ayes, motion passes


Public Comment: Mark Bauman gave the Music on the River schedule and asked the Village if it would be donating the usual $500, Phil Lundy gave suggestions of ways for the Village to generate income, several residents gave opinions on the Public Hearing on March 28, 2024,
Ann Wrobbel read the Presidents Report: Ann would like to consider getting a tribute plaque for Jack & Dee Smith to possibly put on the Bromley Park pavilion, she will check on prices and let Council know next month


Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to approve all bills, expenses and payroll, roll call-all yeses, motion passes


Melissa Lazzaro read the Clerks Report: Next month will have the final fiscal year 2023-2024 budget


Kim Wernette read the Treasurer’s report: Kim read the bank balances, she ordered one computer, the second one is on the way


Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to accept the Treasurers Report, roll call-all yeses, motion passes


John Fribley read the Enforcement Report: he will be back to work April 11, 2024


Kim Wernette read the Cemetery Report: Trees have been trimmed, and look nice, we need to schedule volunteer cleanup for next month


Colleen Beemer read Pine Tree Park Report: Easter egg hunt went very well, received lots of compliments, Helga has 4 State Tournaments schedules, banners are still coming in.
Bromley Park Report: Kim will call Thursday to check on getting the well open
Alice Ray read Research & Information: Alice checked into the carnival, the village would have to put down a $5,000 deposit the first couple years to get established, would have to be a 3-day event, once established its possible they will give the Village a percentage of ticket sales


Alice Ray read Pocket Park: Nothing at this time


Community Activity Report: Easter egg hunt went very well even though it rained, had 80-100 kids, over 3,000 eggs, Lucinda was the Easter Bunny again, there is money left in the budget, would like to get Lucinda a gift card again


Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to purchase a $25 gift card for Lucinda, roll call-all yeses, motion passes


The recreation and medical marijuana ordinances are being tabled until more research can be done, Ann would like to look into selling some of the pine trees on the M-20 property


Kevin Stevens read the Street Commissioner report: Still waiting on a quote for Webber St


Public Comment: Pat Sundquist liked the idea of a tribute to Jack & Dee Smith and suggested changing the name of Pocket Park to Jack & Dee Smith Memorial Park, A resident has 19 acres in the village and is requesting a change to the livestock ordinance to allow cows in the village


Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to adjourn, roll call-all ayes, motion passes
