Regular Meeting Minutes

President Ann Wrobbel, called the Village Council to order at 6:00pm

Pledge to the flag was recited

Roll call: Ann Wrobbel-present, Kim Wernette-present, Melissa Lazzaro-present, Colleen Beemer-present, Alice Ray-absent, Kevin Stevens-present, Charles Smith-present

Minutes of Regular Meeting March 3, 2025, Public Hearing March 3, 2025, and Special Meeting March 27, 2025 were presented

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to accept minutes as is, roll call-all ayes, Alice Ray absent, motion passes

Public Comment: Chris Zimmerman reminded Council MET applications due April 28, 2025,

Ann Wrobbel read the Presidents Report: Mike will continue to mow the cemetery for the same price as last year

Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Kim Wernette to have Mike Rodabough continue to mow the cemetery every other week at $225 per mow, roll call-all yeses, Alice Ray absent, motion passes

Will get with the VFW to set up a clean up day at the cemetery

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to pay General Fund bills with check #11362-11381 & EFTs for $12,695.27, Asset Fund with check #1672-1673 for $899.22, for a total of $13,594.49, roll call-all yeses, Alice Ray absent, motion passes

Melissa Lazzaro read the Clerks Report: Presented Council with the 25-26 budget, working on equipment rental and due to’s, will have final 24-25 budget next month

Kim Wernette read the Treasurer’s report: Bank balances as of 3/31/2025: General Fund: $13,171.28, Asset Fund: $30,349.32, Banner Fund: $2912.93 Community Promotion Fund: $9705.69, Fireworks Fund: $315.79, Local Road Fund: $99,747.94, Major Road Fund: $120,065.86

Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to accept the Treasurers Report, roll call-all yeses, Alice Ray absent, motion passes

Mr. Fribley will be back on April 17, 2025

Kim Wernette read the Cemetery Report: Bubba and the community service guy has been cleaning up, it’s looking good, Ed will volunteer to weed whip again this year, but will need to use the village weed whipper

Colleen Beemer read Pine Tree Park Report: Nothing at this time

Bromley Park Report: Kim will talk to Courtright’s about opening the well

Alice Ray read Research & Information: Alice was absent

Alice Ray read Pocket Park: Alice was absent

Community Activity Report: The Girl Scouts are going to adopt the library outside the office, they will put books in it and want to paint it. Would like to get the ground baskets from Behind Bars, the Art Fair is scheduled for August 30 from 9-5, will need the street closed the same as the car show, still filling eggs for the easter egg hunt, have lots of people bringing treats, Bubba will be helping Kim get stuff out of the fireworks store next week, everything is being donated to the village for the community yard sale scheduled for June 21, 2025, Freedom Fireworks isn’t available this year to do the fireworks, we have 2 other companies that can possibly do them

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to spend up to $800 out of Community Promotion Fund for flowers, roll call-all yeses, Alice Ray absent, motion passes

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to close the street on August 30, 2025, for the Art Fair, roll call-all yeses, Alice Ray absent, motion passes

Received a quote from Rob Pullman for fixing the cracks, power washing, and painting the fire barn and office, will get another quote from him to add tin to the fire barn

Kevin Stevens read the Street Commissioner report: Checking out the roads to see where we need to add cold patch, need some gravel for the roads and village

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to get gravel from Chippewa Gravel, roll call-all yeses, Alice Ray absent
