Regular Meeting Minutes
President Ann Wrobbel, called the Village Council to order at 6:00pm
Pledge to the flag was recited
Roll call: Ann Wrobbel-present, Kim Wernette-present, Melissa Lazzaro-present, Colleen Beemer-present, Alice Ray-present (on speaker phone), Kevin Stevens-present
Alice Ray is present on speaker phone from her home in Mecosta, MI
Minutes of Regular Meeting November 3, 2025, were presented
Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded Kim Wernette to accept minutes with changes, roll call-all ayes, motion passes
Public Comment: Jerry is thankful we bought the green truck, since the plow truck was broke down, they would not have been able to get down their road
Ann Wrobbel read the Presidents Report: Ann read the bids for the 1989 truck, #1-$1,057, #2-$1,503, #3-$225, #4-$800
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to accept a bid of $1,503 for the 1989 truck, roll call- all yeses, motion passes
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to pay all bills, payroll, and expenses, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Melissa Lazzaro read the Clerks Report: Melissa presented council with a current budget, we are over budget in a few areas, but way under in several, Melissa would like permission to make budget amendments
Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Kim Wernette to allow Melissa to make the necessary budget amendments roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Kim Wernette read the Treasurer’s report: Bank balances as of 11/25/2025: General Fund: $41,874.92, Asset Fund: $16,759.77, Banner Fund: $3,752.48, Community Promotion Fund: $4,554.34, ARPA Fund $728.98 Fireworks Fund: $1,224.05, Local Road Fund: $81,864.74, Major Road Fund: $148,087.49
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to take wages for putting up the Christmas lights out of Community Promotion, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Ice Mountain made a $2,000 donation to be earmarked for the Bromley Park Well
Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to accept the Treasurers Report, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Ann Wrobbel read the Enforcement Report: John sent out 3 letters, he will follow up with them and come in as needed throughout the winter
Kim Wernette read the Cemetery Report: Ann wants to thank Chuck and his wife for donating the flagpole and light in the cemetery
Colleen Beemer read Pine Tree Park Report: 1 more water sample before the end of the year
Bromley Park Report: Cancelled the Tree Lighting due to weather, thanks to the Fire Department for offering to get Santa and the Grinch to the park.
Alice Ray read Research & Information: Alice is still looking for grants to put up lights at the ballfield
Alice Ray read Pocket Park: Still waiting on cement for the flagpole, will have to wait for Spring now.
Community Activity Report: The Art Fair is scheduled for September 5, 2026, need permission to close down M20
Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to close M20 on September 5, 2026, for the Art Fair, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Trash pickup is on hold through the winter, will start back up in April
There will be a Celebration of Life for Olivia Fountain on December 7th at 3:00 at the VFW
Street Commissioner Report: The crank sensor on the plow truck went bad, after the meeting he will install it and a new starter. Bob used the new truck to plow as best he could, it also has some issues, might be the coupling, he will look at it Thursday, the snowblower is also broke, the gearbox exploded, he contacted Burnips, new gearbox is $1,600, but on national back order, a new blower is $5,800.
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Alice Ray to look for a gearbox, if he can’t find one within 5 days order new snow blower for $5,800, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Contact MML about plowing residents’ driveways for a price, to be discussed at a later date if allowed, to help maintain the vehicle
Public Comment: Josh asked about how the ordinance letter writing worked, the Christmas Tree looks great
