Regular Meeting Minutes

President Ann Wrobbel, called the Village Council to order at 6:00pm

Pledge to the flag was recited

Roll call: Ann Wrobbel-present, Kim Wernette-present, Melissa Lazzaro-present, Colleen Beemer-present, Alice Ray-present (on speaker phone), Kevin Stevens-present

Alice Ray is present on speaker phone from her home in Mecosta, MI

Minutes of Regular Meeting December 1, 2025, were presented

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded Ann Wrobbel to accept minutes, roll call-all ayes, motion passes

Public Comment: Mr. Zimmerman updated county happenings, Mecosta County is part of an 8 County recycling & garbage program, looking for elected officials to attend meetings. January 29th is the Wheatland MTO Commercial Rehabilitation Fund Meeting

Ann Wrobbel read the Presidents Report: Nothing for this month

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to pay all bills, payroll, and expenses, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Melissa Lazzaro read the Clerks Report: Made budget amendments, has been working with the auditor on end of year filings. Contacted MML about plowing residents’ driveways, and was advised to contact Village Attorney

Kim Wernette read the Treasurer’s report: Bank balances as of 12/30/2025: General Fund: $41,650.00, Asset Fund: $8,178.18, Banner Fund: $3,752.77, Community Promotion Fund: $4,554.69, ARPA Fund $729.04Fireworks Fund: $1,224.14, Local Road Fund: $84,005.12 Major Road Fund: $143,364.52

Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to accept the Treasurers Report, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Ann Wrobbel read the Enforcement Report: Nothing for this month

Kim Wernette read the Cemetery Report: There is lots of storm damage, hoping to have some community help in the spring for cleanup

Colleen Beemer read Pine Tree Park Report: Nothing for this month

Bromley Park Report: Nothing for this month

Alice Ray read Research & Information: Alice is still looking for grants to put up lights at the ballfield

Alice Ray read Pocket Park: Still waiting on cement for the flagpole, will have to wait for Spring now.

Community Activity Report: Music on the River donation, Revitalization Meeting in February, America 250 Community Grant-most of the funds, if received, would go towards new windows for the Schoolhouse, next meeting will be Friday January 16, 2026 at 2:00, VFW will try to promote Village fireworks by having donation cans available at some of the monthly breakfasts

Street Commissioner Report: There were issues with the garage door at the old fire barn during the power outage, recommend a portable generator

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to purchase a generator from Remus Repair for $3,100, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Public Comment: Jerry Wallace asked if we were planning another shredding event, we are not.

Colleen Beemer made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to adjourn, roll call-all ayes, motion passes
