Regular Meeting Minutes
President Ann Wrobbel, called the Village Council to order at 6:00pm
Pledge to the flag was recited
Roll call: Ann Wrobbel-present, Kim Wernette-present, Melissa Lazzaro-present, Colleen Beemer-present, Alice Ray-present (on speaker phone), Kevin Stevens-present, Charles Smith-absent

Minutes of Regular Meeting May 5, 2025, were presented
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to accept minutes, roll call-all ayes, motion passes
Public Comment: Chris Zimmerman- Kim and Ann did an excellent job at the Commissioners Meeting today for the excise tax money
Ann Wrobbel read the Presidents Report: Kim will check with Maxine about using our pictures on the banners
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wernette to accept the Certified Resolution of the Membership or Board of Directors Authorizing the Application for Special License, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to pay General Fund bills and payroll with check #11388-11404 & EFTs for $5,766.94, Local Road Fund with Check # 1594 for $600.00, Major Road Fund with check #2124 for $270, for a total of $6,636, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Melissa Lazzaro read the Clerks Report: Emailed Sheriff Miller about the Beer truck, after paperwork is all filled out, send to him to review, and approve, we will need to get special event insurance for beer truck, ARPA report is completed and submitted.
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to have Mike Rodabaugh mow the cemetery up to three times a month if needed, and cut down to once a month starting in August or September, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Kim Wernette read the Treasurer’s report: Bank balances as of 5/29/2025: General Fund: $20,626.62, Asset Fund: $35,154.83, Banner Fund: $3,533.17, Community Promotion Fund: $7,847.16, Fireworks Fund: $4,512.82, Local Road Fund: $98,043.13, Major Road Fund: $121,217.44
The yard sale is June 21st from 9-5 and the 22nd from 10-5, Fates is letting us use the old restaurant, all proceeds from the sale will be going to the fireworks.
Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to accept the Treasurers Report, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Ann Wrobbel read the Enforcement Report: The health department is dealing with 419 N Webber, 337 S Webber picked up and removed some of the junk from the yard, 341 E Main St. has cleaned up all the junk, this issue is resolved, 300 N Webber St. clean up in progress, Contacted EGLE about the drums of diesel sludge waste at the old gas station at 496 W Main St. The drums have been removed. Sent a letter to the owner of 490 and 510 Webber St. to clean up and remove all trash and junk from the property. Talked with the owner of 210 S John St. about cleaning the property and removing freezers or removing the lid from it till they are disposed of. 419 N. Webber St. is listed for sale with the listing describing the property with great business potential, he called the listing agent and informed her that property is zoned residential and cannot be used to run any business. 259 N Franklin has had a travel trailer moved on to the property and people are camping in it. He sent a letter to the property owner informing them the Village Ordinance does not allow camping anywhere in the Village. The Ordinance also prohibits travel trailers and motorhomes from being placed on vacant property.

Colleen Beemer read Pine Tree Park Report: June 14th is the first horseshoe tournament
Bromley Park Report: Music on the River starts on the 4th of July
Alice Ray read Research & Information: nothing at this time
Alice Ray read Pocket Park: Kevin is waiting on Randy to set the cement in Pocket Park for the flagpole
Community Activity Report: Kim would like to rent a dunk tank for the 4th of July, work on promoting the beer truck, Bubba is working on getting a DJ also.
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to rent a dunk tank for the 4th of July, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to put a deposit on the beer truck, up to $1000 out of Community Promotion Fund, to be paid back after the event, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Street Commissioner Report: Kein was given a quote by a resident for paving the last part of John Street, Council feels it is too much to spend on an area only a few people will benefit from, so at this time it will not be done.
Public Comment: Linda Howard-on June 11, at 10am is the Revitalization meeting at the VFW, still looking for vendors for the 4th of July, she would also like to see the riverbank kept up better,
