Regular Meeting Minutes
President Ann Wrobbel called the Village Council to order at 6:00pm
Pledge to the flag was recited
Roll call: Ann Wrobbel-present, Kim Wernette-present, Melissa Lazzaro-present, Colleen Beemer-present, Alice Ray-present
Minutes of Regular Meeting May 2, 2022, Public Hearing May 23, 2022 and Annual Meeting May 23, 2022 were presented
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to accept May 2, 2022 and Public Hearing My 23, 2022 as written and Annual May 23, 2022 with Corrections-correct the Mills from 11.2296 to 6, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Jackie Haywood followed up on a complaint form she turned in, Spencer Brown turned in a letter of intent for the vacant Trustee Seat, a resident complimented the flowers in town and asked about the possibility of having a Farmer’s Market in the Village, A resident asked about getting Mecosta Days back
Ann Wrobbel read the President’s Report: As of 6/2/22 $1,200 in banner funds, and there are more coming
Colleen Beemer made a motion seconded by Kim Wernette to approve all bills, expenses and payroll, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Kim Wernette read the Treasurer’s Report: Kim read the current bank balances, bank recs from March April and May have been completed, Auditor is coming June 13, 2022 getting everything ready for him, fireworks donations as of today are $5,280.90 and still coming in, equipment rental needs to be done and turned in with time sheets.
Melissa Lazzaro read the Clerk’s report: time sheets need to be filled out with how many hours worked in each department so payroll can be properly accounted for, an updated equipment list is needed for equipment rental.
Kim Wernette read the Cemetery Report: there is someone interested in purchasing a plot if one is available
Colleen Beemer read Pine Tree Park report: Playground equipment is coming along, springs are done for the toys, just waiting on brackets, the next Horse shoe tournament is July 9, 2022, Little League is using the field for some of their games.
Alice Ray read the Bromley and Pocket Park report: the water sample has been taken to the Health Department waiting on results, discussed where to put the new flag pole, would like to put 2 flower pots in Pocket Park
Ann Wrobbel read Blight and Ordinance report: Ann talked with Corey from the Township, violations have not yet been addressed, the Village may have to consider offering him a wage to help get things cleaned up
Community Activity report: nothing going on until 4th of July
Kim Wernette read the Research and Information report: she contacted Paula, who is working on the Master Plan to get an update, there is no update, it hasn’t been worked on. Need to order Children at Play and Blind Person Area signs and poles
Kevin Stevens read the Street Commissioner report: He has contacted someone to fix the monument in the Cemetery, it will be done when he has time to get to it
It was suggested to get frisbee golf started in Pine Tree Park, signs are also needed to keep motorized vehicles off the grass in Pine Tree Park, and a liability sign in the parks
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to order signs, not to exceed $1,500, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
A resident asked about a vacant house with very long grass, Ann will try to contact the owner
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to appoint Spencer Brown to the vacant Trustee seat, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Alice Ray made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to adjourn, roll call-all ayes, motion passes
