Regular Meeting Minutes

President Ann Wrobbel called the Village Council to order at 6:00pm

Pledge to the flag was recited

Roll call: Ann Wrobbel-present, Kim Wernette-present, Melissa Lazzaro-present, Colleen Beemer-present, Alice Ray-present

Minutes of Regular Meeting May 6, 2024, were presented

Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Kim Wernette to accept minutes as written, roll call-all ayes, motion passes

Public Comment: None

Ann Wrobbel read the Presidents Report: A couple employees have asked if it’s possible to be paid bi-weekly instead of monthly

Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Kim Wernette to approve resolution # 001-24 all hourly employees to be paid bi-weekly instead of monthly, roll call-all yeses, motion passes, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to approve all bills, expenses, and payroll, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Melissa Lazzaro read the Clerks Report: Requested to update the prices on FOIA Form, council agreed to update copies from .25 to .50 per page, small envelopes from .14 to .50 plus postage, big envelopes from .16 to $1.00 plus postage, and the hourly wage from $12.00/hr. to $17.50/hr.

Kim Wernette read the Treasurer’s report:  Kim read the bank balances, and presented Council with the Check Register, so far collected $2,760 for Fireworks

Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to accept the Treasurers Report, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

John Fribley read the Ordinance Report: 341 Main St was given 30 days to clean up by the court, he is now cleaning things up. 298 S Webber St. was issued a 10-day second notice and is now cleaning things up. 435 N Penn St. was issued a 10-day second notice and is also cleaning things up. 535 Cherry St. did not respond to a letter about an illegal fence and was issued a citation for the illegal fence. 301 Webber was issued a citation for chickens and ducks, second offence. Working on zoning issues 587 Washington St.

Kim Wernette read the Cemetery Report: Looked good for Memorial Day, Ed weed whipped the old part and ca few other sections, sticks all picked up, Mike is doing a good job mowing.

Colleen Beemer read Pine Tree Park Report: There was someone that rented the park and was upset the tables were dirty, there were leaves in the pavilion, and the well wasn’t working, well is now working. Possibly rent out horseshoes and bean bags for a $50.00 deposit and copy of driver’s license.

Bromley Park Report:  nothing this month

Alice Ray read Research & Information: Checked cemetery plot prices in surrounding area, our prices are comparable

Alice Ray read Pocket Park: Would like the solar lights put up

Community Activity Report: going to push back the date of the scrap tire day to August or September, Rachel would like to have a light parade on July 6th, the Plaque for Jack & Dee should be done in a month or two think about where to put it for next month

Still working on the Animal Ordinance

Kevin Stevens read the Street Commissioner report: Waiting on Central Asphalt to start the road

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to spend up to $500 on cold patch, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Public Comment: Linda Howard complained about several properties having long grass, the Village doesn’t have a grass ordinance, so nothing can be done about it, Bubba will make sure main street looks good for the parade

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Alice Ray to adjourn, roll call-all ayes, motion passes
