Regular Meeting Minutes
President Ann Wrobbel called the Village Council to order at 6:00pm
Pledge to the flag was recited
Roll call: Ann Wrobbel-present, Kim Wernette-present, Melissa Lazzaro-present, Colleen Beemer-present, Alice Ray-present
Minutes of Regular Meeting February 5, 2024 were presented
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to accept minutes with changes, roll call-all ayes, motion passes
Public Comment: None
Ann Wrobbel read the Presidents Report: Mike is available to cut the grass at the cemetery again this year, his rate has gone up to $225 per cut. There are several bags of cans ready to be turned in at Kevin’s shop. Would like to get checks for the Fireworks account instead of transferring money, will check on prices. Ann would like Council Members to help her with the banner contracts, please come into the office on Thursday to pick up contracts.
Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Kim Wernette to have Mike cut the grass at the cemetery twice a month for $225 per cut, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to approve all bills, expenses and payroll, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Melissa Lazzaro read the Clerks Report: This year is our bi-annual audit, scheduled for May 6 & 7, It was suggested by our accountants to have the ARPA Funds spent by the end of the year to prevent losing it.
Kim Wernette read the Treasurer’s report: Kim read the bank balances, she ordered one computer, will order the other one next week.
Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to accept the Treasurers Report, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
John Fribley was absent, Ann Wrobbel read the Enforcement Officer Report: There are 2 standing cases-one is making payments, the other case was turned back over to the court, if no payment or payment arrangement is made by April first it will go back to the court. Ann will contact Mr. Fribley in the middle of March to see if he’s coming back in April.
Kim Wernette read the Cemetery Report: Nothing for this month
Colleen Beemer read Pine Tree Park Report: There are 3 horseshoe dates with Tony’s Crew, Helga is expecting 2 State Sanctioned dates, the well passed the VOC Test, just waiting on the results from the second bacteria test.
Bromley Park Report: Both parks need new flags
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to purchase 2 flags from the VFW, not to exceed $150, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Alice Ray read Research & Information: Discussed different ways of possibly bringing in revenue for the Village, ATV Raffle, Raffle, Carnival
Alice Ray read Pocket Park: Nothing at this time
Community Activity Report: Need to decide when to fill eggs, Lucinda is going to be the Easter Bunny again, will be getting more donut holes than last year, depending on the weather will have hot cocoa or juice boxes, The Village was awarded the tire scrap grant, tentative date is June 15th.
Kim Wernette and Colleen Beemer’s Trustee Seats are up for election this year, Ann Wrobbel’s President seat is up as well.
A Public Hearing has been set for March 28, 2024 at 4:30pm to discuss the Medical and Recreational Marihuana Ordinance
Kevin Stevens read the Street Commissioner report: Still waiting on a quote for Webber St, picking up the cutting blades on Friday.
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to allow Bubba to spend up to $800 for flowers and fertilizer, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Alice Ray to adjourn, roll call-all ayes, motion passes
