President Ann Wrobbel, called the Village Council to order at 6:00pm
Pledge to the flag was recited
Roll call: Ann Wrobbel-present, Kim Wernette-present, Melissa Lazzaro-present, Colleen Beemer-present, Alice Ray-absent, Kevin Stevens-present
Minutes of Regular Meeting April 6, 2026, were presented
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded Ann Wrobbel to accept minutes, roll call-all ayes, Alice Ray-absent, motion passes
Public Comment: Mr. Zimmerman updated county happenings, they are keeping the equalization person, will split between Mecosta and Osceola Counties, there is MET money left, they will be deciding soon where that will go, having a closed session on the Tonkin Drain, there is a property dispute, County is the Plaintiff, will be decided in the next couple of weeks. Linda talked about the America 250 Celebration on June 13, you can get tickets using the QR code on the flyer or email the Remus Museum at remusmuseum@gmail.com, tickets are free due to the grant they received.
Ann Wrobbel read the Presidents Report: Ann will talk to Al next week to get a quote on changing the fuse box at the office to be able to hook up the generator if necessary. She has 5 more banners to put up, her and Mike will be doing that tomorrow, Mike will be dragging the ball field on Wednesday

Melissa Lazzaro read the Clerks Report: Melissa presented council with the final 2025-2026 budget
Kim Wernette read the Treasurer’s report: Bank balances as of 4/30/2026: General Fund: $31,459.79, Asset Fund: $21,076.19 Banner Fund: $5224.05, Community Promotion Fund: $7,150.30, ARPA Fund $729.29 Fireworks Fund: $1,802.45, Local Road Fund: $82,302.93 Major Road Fund: $132,636.50
Local Street Fund CD matures on 5/5/2026, UHY was here today and will be again tomorrow to finish u the audit, they recommend we transfer the remaining money in the Covid fund to Community Promotion as we will be writing the check for the flagpole in Pocket Park out of that fund.

Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to transfer the remaining Covid fund money to the Community Promotion Fund, roll call-all yeses, Alice Ray-absent, motion passes

Ann Wrobbel read the Enforcement Report: John sent out 3 letters when he was here in April, he will be here on May 14th to check on them, Ann has received 3 more addresses to be checked out
Kim Wernette read the Cemetery Report: The Cemetery cleanup was on April 25th, about 30 people showed up including students from the National Honor Society and Student Council from the Middle School and High School, we spent $135 on pizza, and got a lot of cleanup done. May 2nd, the VFW put flags out, and Kim and her family did more cleanup. The VFW is going to try to get some money for the village to help with cutting down trees at the cemetery, it will be brought up at the next meeting. Brice will fix the well pit; Kevin will look for the old hand pump from Pine Tree Park to see if we could use it at the cemetery
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to hire Cook’s to cut the trees, grind stumps and finish clean up in the cemetery not to exceed $3,000, roll call-all yeses, Alice Ray absent, motion passes
Colleen Beemer read Pine Tree Park Report: There are 3 horseshoe tournaments scheduled so far, June 13, July 11, and September 19. Colleen will get with Helga to see when they can fix the pits
Bromley Park Report: Mike mowed before he left for vacation, he will make sure its cut before Music on the River, there is a tree in the river, it’s the homeowner’s responsibility, Ann will have John talk with him.

Community Activity Report: Deb Steig and Kim have donated lots of items they found on clearance for next years Easter Celebration, Melissa and Kim donated over 60 easter baskets as well. 4th of July fundraising has begun, the VFW and Deb Steig are helping as well
Ann reminded everyone to vote tomorrow, and wants Council to read an article in the MML newsletter about Data Centers
Street Commissioner Report: Gib’s in Evart has cement curbs for Bromley Park, the 6 ft ones are $53, put a new battery in the green truck, it needs an oil change and he needs to check the air conditioner, went to Ice Mountain to pick up water, they couldn’t use the fork lift so they had to load all the cases by hand
