Regular Meeting Minutes

President Ann Wrobbel called the Village Council to order at 6:00pm

Pledge to the flag was recited

Roll call: Ann Wrobbel-present, Kim Wernette-present, Melissa Lazzaro-present, Colleen Beemer-present, Alice Ray-present

Minutes of Regular Meeting October 7, 2024, and Special Meeting October 24, 2024, were presented

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to accept minutes as is, roll call-all ayes, motion passes

Public Comment: A resident gave an update on the Arts in the Streets project that was started a few years ago, Felicia is working on it with the schools and library, Fates is going to fund it. Linda Howard said Mecosta County Revitalization would also be willing to help with this project.

Ann Wrobbel read the Presidents Report: There was $217 made from the rims from the scrap tire event, that money will be used to purchase 2 Thanksgiving dinners and 2 Christmas dinner for 4 different families in the Village. Kim is coordinating with Mecosta Elementary for the families. Ann spoke with the Village attorney about the possible lease with the M20 property, we need to get with the DNR to find out exactly what we can do with the property.

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Alice Ray to approve all bills, expenses, and payroll, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Melissa Lazzaro read the Clerks Report: Nothing to report at this time

Kim Wernette read the Treasurer’s report:  Kim read the bank balances, and presented Council with the check register,

Alice Ray made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to accept the Treasurers Report, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

John Fribley read the Ordinance Report: Things have been looking good this month, with very few violations observed while driving around the Village. He sent a letter to 337 S Webber about junk starting to accumulate, and sent a letter to 837 Moore St for a complaint about chickens

Kim Wernette read the Cemetery Report: Kim spoke with Carl Moore about getting together with all his records and getting things for the cemetery organized.

Colleen Beemer read Pine Tree Park Report: Already have some dates for next year’s State Tournaments

Bromley Park Report: Well shut down for the winter

Alice Ray read Research & Information: nothing at this time

Alice Ray read Pocket Park: Would like to get the second light up in the park, will be putting up the giving tree again this year, looking for donations of hats and gloves/mittens

Community Activity Report: Tree lighting has been moved to the Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 30th at 5:00pm, calendars are being printed, would like profits to go to fireworks this year.

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Alice Ray to use calendar profit for fireworks, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to declare the month of November Family Court Awareness in Mecosta, MI, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Alice Ray to accept the bid of $1,500 for the flagpole in Pocket Park, to be paid out of ARPA Funds, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Kevin Stevens read the Street Commissioner report: The big tractor is at Burnips, a clutch cable went out, will be approximately $1,200 to fix. Bubba gave some prices on building and purchasing a batting cage

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to have the tractor fixed at Burnips, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
