Regular Meeting Minutes
President Ann Wrobbel, called the Village Council to order at 6:00pm
Pledge to the flag was recited
Roll call: Ann Wrobbel-present, Kim Wernette-present, Melissa Lazzaro-present, Colleen Beemer-present, Alice Ray-present (on speaker phone), Kevin Stevens-present
Alice Ray is present on speaker phone from her home in Mecosta, MI
Minutes of Regular Meeting August 4, 2025, were presented
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded Colleen Beemer to accept minutes, roll call-all ayes, motion passes
Public Comment: Mr. Wallace commented on how successful the Art Fair was and how it brought a lot of people to town all day
Ann Wrobbel read the Presidents Report: Ann would like to have Kevin and Bob do snow plowing and snow removal, again this year, call Courtright’s to get the well at Bromley closed by the end of September, wants to have winter hours for the office 9-2 for budget purposes
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to have Kevin Stevens do the villages snow removal at the same price as last year-$2,500 per removal, anything over 10 hours $250/hr., minimum of 4 times, and Bob Altman for snowplowing, at the same rate as last year-$20/hr., roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Kim Wernette to pay all bills, payroll and expenses, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Melissa Lazzaro read the Clerks Report: presented Council with current budget, and last years budget at this time, things are looking good so far, several line items are down from last year.
Kim Wernette read the Treasurer’s report: Bank balances as of 8/28/2025: General Fund: $10,753.57, Asset Fund: $20.270.05, Banner Fund: $3,766.24, Community Promotion Fund: $5,251.38, ARPA Fund $728.74 Fireworks Fund: $1,223.24, Local Road Fund: $104,623.03, Major Road Fund: $134,528.99
Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to accept the Treasurers Report, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Ann Wrobbel read the Enforcement Report: Nothing to report, John is caught up on everything, things are looking good
Kim Wernette read the Cemetery Report: Mike’s doing a good job mowing.
Colleen Beemer read Pine Tree Park Report: Hercules Tournament on August 9th 1 team backed out at the last minute, other than that everything went well, The Food truck did very well, the same teams as last year won 1st and second place. Possibly need to make some changes for next year, move the location of the beer truck, and open it earlier were some suggestions. The tournament raised $370 to go towards the ballfield. Last horseshoe tournament is September 13th.
Bromley Park Report: Music on the River is done for the year
Alice Ray read Research & Information: Called several villages about what they charge for vendors/food trucks for events, no one was in at the time, she left messages for them
Alice Ray read Pocket Park: Still waiting on cement for the flagpole
Community Activity Report: The Art Fair had a great turnout, over 400 people showed up throughout the day. The Optimist Club had crafts for the kids, 60 kids attended
Street Commissioner Report: Cold patch is coming next week, salt was left in the hopper from last year, hoping there is no damage.
