Regular Meeting Minutes

President Ann Wrobbel called the Village Council to order at 6:00pm

Pledge to the flag was recited

Roll call: Ann Wrobbel-present, Kim Wernette-present, Melissa Lazzaro-present, Colleen Beemer-present, Alice Ray-present

Minutes of Regular Meeting August 5, 2024, were presented

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to accept minutes, roll call-all ayes, motion passes

Public Comment: none

Ann Wrobbel read the Presidents Report: Put plowing and snow removal up for bids, bids due by September 30, 2024

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to approve all bills, expenses, and payroll, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Melissa Lazzaro read the Clerks Report: Melissa presented Council with a current budget with areas highlighted that are close to being overbudget

Kim Wernette read the Treasurer’s report:  Kim read the bank balances, and presented Council with the check register, would like to take $1,000 out of Community Promotion Account to add into General Fund Account for cemetery mowing.

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Alice Ray to take $1,000 out of Community Promotion account to add to the General Fund for cemetery mowing, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to accept the Treasurers Report, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

John Fribley read the Ordinance Report: Things have been looking good this month, sent out 2 letters, both have already started cleaning up. As He was driving around town, he left flyers for the scrap tire collection at homes that had tires laying around.

Kim Wernette read the Cemetery Report: Nothing at this time

Colleen Beemer read Pine Tree Park Report: There is a horseshoe tournament on September 14, 2024, Hercules Softball Tournament had a great turnout, looking to make it bigger next year.

Bromley Park Report: Music on the River is done for the year

Alice Ray read Research & Information: Found a grant for recycling and composting

Alice Ray read Pocket Park: New light is up, looks very nice

Community Activity Report:  Scrap tire collection is September 21st, Kim is moving forward with new calendars for 2025, all proceeds will go to 2025 fireworks

Need to come up with ideas for the rest of the ARPA Funds for next meeting, John St. roof needs to be replaced, put up for bids, due by September 30, 2024, all the furnaces need to be cleaned and looked at, it’s costing the Village $139/year to rent the propane tank because we don’t fill it enough, get prices for 100 lb tanks

Kevin Stevens read the Street Commissioner report: The power line still needs to be fixed from when the building was demolished

Public Comment: Linda Howard stated the Mecosta Revitalization wrap up meeting is September 18, 2024, at 10:00, is wondering if the Village is putting on any type of fall event, wants to know who is running for the election in November, wants copies of all funds budget and the blight grant report, asked why we haven’t transferred any of the administration fee yet

Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Kim Wernette to adjourn, roll call-all ayes, motion passes
