Regular Meeting Minutes

President Ann Wrobbel called the Village Council to order at 6:00pm

Pledge to the flag was recited

Roll call: Ann Wrobbel-present, Kim Wernette-present, Melissa Lazzaro-present, Colleen Beemer-present, Alice Ray-present,

Minutes of Regular Meeting September 8, 2022 were presented

Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to accept minutes, roll call-all ayes, motion passes

Public Comment: Linda Howard asked if the permit for the street closure in June of 2023 was complete. Mark Bauman gave a Music on the River report, they had a good year, Elvis brought in over 500 people, next year they will start the last Friday in June.

Kim Wernett made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to donate $500 to Music on the River next year, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Ann Wrobbel read the President’s Report: Spencer Brown resigned on October 18, 2022

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Alice Ray to send the $195 profit from the playground equipment Spencer Brown purchased back to Edmore, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

The VFW looking into have banners made for local veteran’s, the banners at Pine Tree Park were taken down, $1,100 was raised from the banners this year for the ball field, two more contract were received for next year. Kevin and Rachel’s Fall Festival raised $250 from the silent auction and donated it back to the ball field.

Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Kim Wernette to approve all bills, expenses and payroll, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Melissa Lazzaro read the Clerk’s Report: Melissa let Council know to be careful with spending in General Fund, as funds are getting very low.

Kim Wernette read the Treasurer’s report:  Kim read the bank balances; she would like to open a sperate account for the Lakeside Lease money.

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to open a checking account for the Lakeside lease money, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to accept the Treasurers report, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

John Fribley read the Enforcement Officer Report: He started on October 1st, has started going through Ordinances, once the ordinance is adopted, he can start enforcing it.

Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to adopt the Reduction or Elimination of Blight, Noise and Nuisance Ordinance, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

Kim Wernette read the Cemetery Report: Bubba is doing a great job getting the leaves picked up

Colleen Beemer read Pine Tree Park Report: The picnic tables have been put away

 Bromley Park Report:

Alice Ray read Pocket Park and Research & Information report: she has nothing to report at this time for research and Information, she would like to get the new lights up soon in Pocket Park, and the little Christmas Tree.

Community Activity Report: Christmas Tree lighting will be on November 27, 2022 at 4:00pm at Bromley Park, the reindeer will be there at 4:00pm and tree lighting will start at 6:00pm, there will also be a choir, Rachel donated the leftover candy from the Fall Festival to the Village for the Christmas Tree Lighting, Kim has the ornaments, her and Melissa will work on getting them done.

Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to spend up to $300 for Christmas Tree Lighting activities, roll call-all yeses, motion passes

There will be a workshop on November 19, 2022 at 1:00pm to stuff goodie bags

The calendars are selling well, so far $190 has been collected, they are available at Woody’s, Steve’s Repair Shop, Travis Hardware, and the Village Office

Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to Pay Paula Priebe the remaining $2,250 for the Master Plan, roll call-all yesses, motion passes

Kevin Stevens read the Street Commissioner report: The tractor has been fixed and Bubba is using it to cut the sides of the road, working on the plow truck.

Public Comment: Linda Howard asked if the well testing was done, and commended Council on the new ordinance and hiring Mr. Fribley to get the Village cleaned up. Kevin thanked everyone for their help and sponsorship with the fall festival, is possibly working on a committee for Mecosta Days.

Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Kim Wernette to adjourn, roll call-all ayes, motion passes
