Regular Meeting Minutes
President Ann Wrobbel, called the Village Council to order at 6:00pm
Pledge to the flag was recited
Roll call: Ann Wrobbel-present, Kim Wernette-present, Melissa Lazzaro-present, Colleen Beemer-present, Alice Ray-present (on speaker phone), Kevin Stevens-present
Alice Ray is present on speaker phone from her home in Mecosta, MI
Minutes of Regular Meeting September 2, 2025, were presented
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded Colleen Beemer to accept minutes, roll call-all ayes, motion passes
Public Comment: Mr. Zimmerman there are people going door to door looking for hail damage to replace roofs in Canadian Lakes, they are worried about insurance rates going up. County is working on budget. Linda went to the presentation at Ferris for the Park Ideas, there were 5 different presentations from students
Ann Wrobbel read the Presidents Report: nothing at this time
Kim Wernette made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to pay all bills, payroll, and expenses, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Melissa Lazzaro read the Clerks Report: melissa completed Workman’s comp audit, presented council with a letter from the accounting firm, working on getting ESTA set up in Quickbooks
Kim Wernette read the Treasurer’s report: Bank balances as of 9/30/2025: General Fund: $44,013.47, Asset Fund: $17,992.55, Banner Fund: $3,7766.83, Community Promotion Fund: $4,855.64, ARPA Fund $728.86 Fireworks Fund: $1,223.84, Local Road Fund: $107,834.68, Major Road Fund: $140,334.54
Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Colleen Beemer to accept the Treasurers Report, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Ann Wrobbel read the Enforcement Report: several letters were sent out, all are now in compliance
Kim Wernette read the Cemetery Report: The new road looks good, and is much nicer, Mike is doing a great job mowing
Colleen Beemer read Pine Tree Park Report: 1 more bacteria sample due before the end of the year
Bromley Park Report: Nothing at this time
Alice Ray read Research & Information: Alice received 1 reply on prices for Food trucks, she will look into grants for lights for the ball field
Alice Ray read Pocket Park: Still waiting on cement for the flagpole, cement should be put in in a couple weeks, check on the solar lights to make sure they are all working
Community Activity Report: Christmas Tree Lighting on November 29th at 5:00
Ann Wrobbel made a motion seconded by Kim Wernette to allow $300 from Community Promotion Fund for the Tree lighting, roll call-all yeses, motion passes
Street Commissioner Report: Chuck fixed the tin on the pavilion in Bromley Park where the hole was.
Kim made a motion seconded by Ann Wrobbel to adopt the Annual Family Court Awareness Month Resolution.
Sidewalks can be repaired for non-motorized Act 51 project, start thinking of some sidewalks that need to be repaired
Public Comment: Jerry thinks Chuck is working out well, the parks look very nice,
